Hi guysOn a normal day I am a windows guy, so please go easy.Based on what I read, I should be able to install High Sierra (which will allow me to install Mojave later) on this Mid 2010 MacPro with included ATI 5770 card. But I don't see this option, and having trouble locating dmg installer for High Sierra. Its running El Capitan right now. I have 6core Xeon on the way, and already put in some ecc RAM. Also have MSI Radeon RX570 4GB card that I could use in that Mac.Can someone please point me to where I can get High Sierra downloaded, so I can try and see what happens? I think that installer will also update the BIOS firmware on this MAC.

Dec 01, 2016 You will probably brick your video card and start your Mac Pro on fire. My information applies ONLY to a Mac Pro 4,1 running 10.8.0 with a stock GT120 in slot 1, and a Sapphire HD 6750 Vapor-X 1gb DDR5 card in slot 2. I know nothing about any other devices and I'm not responsible for what you might do with the below information.
Or it isn't allowing me to get High Sierra because of video card? What if I put 570 in? I already have Mojave dmg, but that requires High Sierra installed. What are the steps here, what I am missing? I see people running 5770 with High Sierra on youtube, did they swap the video card just to get HS installer to run?
Also found watching videos about 'boot screen-supported video card thingy' kinda dumb, but I guess that the thing, boot screen wont be there for me with 570, its MSI card. Help me here peeps. It is the project I am working on right now trying to see if I can use that MAC (the case is gorgeous)Thank you. If you want to eventually install Mojave on your MP you need to read the link below. It is a multistep process to get Mojave installed on your MP. There will be two bootROM updates which require downloading the full version of High Sierra which you can get here:plus when you install Mojave the second bootROM update will occur. Please read the posts here as I have already updated my MP to Mojave and it has been an experience. Also I believe you will find your Radeon 5770 is not supported in Mojave. Others have posted they had issues.
I had to change back to my GTS 780 as Nvidia is not writing drivers for it and the last card Apple natively supports is the GTX 780.Also I recommend checking on if your bluetooth and wireless will work. I had already updated my cards but it took Onyx to get them working again after installing Mojave.Lisa.

Thanks a lot +Boz for the terrific and detailed flashing tutorial. I have a couple of questions I hope someone can help with about single/dual PCIe slot versions of the ATX card. I?m thinking of having a go at an ATX ATI 5770 for my Mac Pro (now that Final Cut Pro X refuses to even download because I have an older non-OpenCL Radeon HD 2600 card installed). I?m not a gamer, so my principal interest is in having an OpenCL compatible card in my Mac Pro.Obviously, a relatively powerful card is better, since the GPU will be doing a lot of the grunt work in rendering files. I?m also concerned about space and cooling, since I already have one PCIe slot occupied by a BlackMagic Design?Intensity Pro? I?ve had a look at your link to NewEgg, but I?ll be buying from the UK, so my choice is more limited, and usually more expensive. It seems that the more popular and common version is a single PCIe slot version of the XFX ATI 5770, which claims to have more efficient cooling and lower power consumption.
It?s usually available as a Dual DVI with mini DisplayPort and sometimes including HDMI. Do you know if your flashing procedure will work just as well on an ATX single slot version of the 5770? If so, am I missing something in going for what seems to be a newer and more efficient version? Is there an argument for opting for the dual PCIe slot card? Hi all, new to the forum here. I can only get to about step #10 before I start to have problems!!!After booting from my Win 95 boot disc, I see the DOS prompts but it says 'No valid CDROM device drivers selected.' What the entire screen says is: CD-ROM Device Driver for IDE (Four Channels Supported) © Sopyright Oak Technology Inc. 1993-1996 Driver Version: V340 Device Name: BANANA No drives found aborting installation Device driver not found: 'BANANA'.
No valid CDROM device drivers selected A: So I get to the point where I can enter in the 'C: ' command, but once I hit enter it says: 'Invalid drive specification' Any ideas??? I'm trying to flash an ATI Radeon 5770 in a Mac Pro 1,1. I'm trying to flash an ATI Radeon 5770 in a Mac Pro 1,1. Got it working. This is a great How-To guide, thank you so much for posting. Two things that I ran into: 1) I was having trouble getting into DOS so I used this as my boot disk and it worked no problem (just press 1 at the first prompt, then 2 at the second prompt when you boot from a CD with this on it). 2) this is probably a super-noob thing, but it's been a long time since I've used any DOS commands so remember that to change disk drives, type: C: (or use whichever other letter your drive is called) and press Enter. And to bring up the directory, type: dir and hit enter. Again, this is probably ridiculously simple stuff, but may be helpful to someone out there.AMD Radeon HD 5750.
AMD Radeon HD 5770 You may notice display anomalies or issues playing back video or other HDCP-encoded content when you use an ATI Radeon HD 5770 video card in Mac Pro. Nvidia posted a 343.01.01 Mac driver update for OS X Yosemite. Runs on a early 2008 Mac Pro Quad (3.1) with Radeon HD 5770 graphics card. Reviews 'If you have a Mac Pro running a Radeon HD 5770, Radeon HD 4870, GeForce GTX 285, Quadro 4000, GeForce GT120, GeForce 8800 GT, the new Sapphire HD 7950 would make a very strong upgrade. Thanks again!!
